Arc FAQ

For more information about the Arc visit the Arc Reception, Ground Floor, Blockhouse, telephone (02) 9385 7700, email: reception@arc.unsw.edu.au and continue to check out this website.

Where do I find out about job vacancies with the Arc?

Jobs are advertised on our website under Jobs, the Arc's Employment notice board (Blockhouse reception area) and in Blitz magazine.

If I want to get involved in the Arc Board , do I have to stand for election?

If you want to be a Member of the Board, or if you have aspirations to the Presidency, then you do have to participate in the democratic process. Any Member of the Arc is eligible to stand for election. The elections are usually late in Session 1. If you have a more specific interest in one part of the Board's activities, you should also be aware that many of the Board's committees co-opt members as volunteers to assist in the discharge of their duties. Information about positions available can be obtained from the Secretary to the Board.

Why can't I see the minutes from the Board meetings on the website?

The minutes for Arc Board meetings are only available to the public once they have been confirmed by the Board as a true and accurate record of the meeting. This happens at the next meeting of the Board, so the minutes are usually available to the public one month after the meeting itself. The minutes for Arc Board meetings are available from the Secretary to the Board.

What do I have to do to get a free Student Diary?

As long as you have obtained your UNSW student card, you can pick up your Student Diary. Simply take your student card to the Arc Reception (in the Blockhouse) and fill in a registration form to get your free 2007 student diary and wall-planner. Or you can fill in the registration form online and bring the print out confirmation to the Arc Reception (in the Blockhouse) to collect them.
