Indigenous Department

SRC 2009: Indigenous OfficerThe Indigenous Department of the Rep Council aims to advance the interests, welfare and practice of self-determination and identity of indigenous students at UNSW.

We aim to act as a means for expression of indigenous student concerns through the decision-making processes set out in the Rep Council constitution.

The Department promises to represent the interests of indigenous students with regard to academic, social, cultural, health and welfare matters within the University and wider community.

We will work on behalf of indigenous students, on an equal basis, to advocate for an education that is accessible, equitable and free from discrimination of any form.

YARN (Indigenous Collective) meets every Monday from 4-5pm at the Library

Promoting pride in cultural heritage, identity and community in order to raise awareness of and expand the UNSW Indigenous community is a key goal, as well as advocating the importance of indigenous issues within the University and wider community.
