I'm Ross and I'm an Arts/Law Student. Your time at University is a once in a lifetime experience and you should be able to make the most of it. I've been so lucky to be involved in so many different things during my time, like sport, college life, Arc's great volunteering programs, clubs and societies as well as plenty of time at the Roundhouse (not to mention class and studying!).
But I've done nothing more valuable than get involved in the SRC. The SRC is here to represent you! Is there anything that could make your campus experience better? Are you having trouble with the University? We'd love to know and it's easy to get your voice heard - just drop us a line on our facebook page, send an email to srcpresident@arc.unsw.edu.au or call 02 9385 7712. |

Hi, my name is David Bailey-McKay. I'm a 4th year Social Work/Arts student. My first involvement in student activism was in 2010 with the noodle day rally against student poverty and the industrial dispute between the university and NTEU. I saw that by being active in student life I could better my university life. This has resulted in running for Education officer in 2011 and 2012. Things I have done in this time include organising a protest against cuts to CSE, FASS and COFA, presenting petitions to parliament and sitting on review committees for issues such as SAFF and course structures. Hobbies of mine include listening to music, procrastibaking and watching Community. |

Co-Education Officer |
My name's Lauren and I'm a third year media student. I got involved because I wanted to do my bit to make student life easier at UNSW. Uni can be a fantastic experience, but there's plenty of room to improve our time here. I want to make sure students have a diverse range of subjects to study, small class sizes, plenty of face to face time with their teachers and better access to their course materials. I also want to take part in more long term battles against fee deregulation and changes to HECS that hurt students, particularly those from disadvantaged back-grounds. By getting involved in student representation we have a huge opportunity to improve the quality of our education. We have big plans for the Ed Collective this year so make sure to visit our stall at O-Week or contact |

I am a third year Architecture student interested in environmentally responsive design and finding ways to reduce our impact on the planet while improving our way of life. I believe that increasing environmental sustainability shouldn't be an inconvenience but an opportunity to improve the environments in which we live. If you're looking to reduce your environmental impact, joining your campus Enviro Collective is the best way to start. Here you will meet a bunch of like-minded people working together to improve our campus environment. |

Ethnic Affairs Officers |
My name is Charlotte, and I am UNSW's Ethnic Affairs Officer on the SRC. I am currently in my final year of Arts, studying a double major of English and Linguistics. I'm passionate about how languages have evolved over time. My hobbies include baking cupcakes and correcting others on their spelling and grammar. I am a proofreader/sub editor for a few well-known magazines (Grand Designs Australia, anyone?) and also have my own editing company. I am passionate about ethnic affairs, as I think we have a few problems at UNSW pertaining to it. I'm a bit of a hopeful idealist, and I guess I just want everyone to get along and be happy. Whilst... |

I'm Amelia, I study Science/Law and have a keen interest in social justice and criminal law. I've always been interested in queer rights but the Queer Collective gave me an opportunity to pursue this as well as widening my social circle and giving me a lot of great friends. If you want to get involved, come along to a meeting or head up to the space at any time! |
Female Identifying Queer Officer |

Co-Non-Female Identifying Queer Officer |
Hey I'm Dean, and one of the Queer Officers at UNSW. My main agenda is to focus on transgender rights and equality, regardless of your sexuality or gender identity. I have an undergraduate degree in Social Science, with a double Major in Sociology and Humanitarian and Peace Studies. I am currently doing my Masters Degree in Law. I have volunteered with twenty-10, ACON, and several youth care facilities. The reasoning behind why I personally got involved with the SRC is because I believe all minorities should be represent and have their voice heard. Being transgendered and queer in any social institution can be horrific without the correct support. The SRC is designed to support students, so if you have an issue, concern or even a general question... |

My name is Amber. I'm a third year Arts/Law student. In my spare time, my hobbies are reading and riding my bike. I'm also the Women's Officer on your SRC! I represent the needs of all women-identifying students. I became deeply interested in women's issues and feminism in my second year at university and got further involved by reading, reading, and more reading. Then eventually I mustered up the courage to seek out the Women's Room at my university. |

Co-Welfare Officer |
I'm Brad, a third year Software Engineering and Commerce student. Studying in one of the most expensive cities in the world means that not everyone is given the same chance at an education and at the quality of lifestyle they deserve. The Welfare team is there for you when you need a hand, and when something can be made better. We will run campaigns to help make food and living more affordable, to cut down on predatory behaviour and to try make your experience at UNSW as fulfilling as possible. I have many years of commercial and not-for-profit experience, but still learn something every day in this job. I'm proud to be working... |

Hi, I'm Anna and I'm the SRC Co-Welfare Officer. I'm a fourth year Arts/Education student; majoring in English and minoring in History. My interests include literature, popular culture, history, ethics, art, international discourse, writing, economics, politics, and philosophy. I'm also passionate about human rights, social justice, humanitarian aid, grassroots activism, and eliminating the cycle of disadvantage and poverty. The SRC is committed to making life on campus more affordable, accessible and convenient for all students. The SRC Welfare department aims to ensure each student has the opportunity to enjoy university. They help with matters that range from housing and Centrelink... |

Students with Disabilities Officer |
Through my involvement in the SEADU and a variety of educational
and access campaigns at Redfern Legal Centre, I have witnessed and
developed a thorough understanding of the attitudinal and physical
obstacles that students with disabilities face. A successful
university education for these students can be achieved through
inclusive educational policies and practices combined with active
participation in programs aimed at breaking down these obstacles. I
wish to further help students with disabilities perform to their
full academic capacity. |

(Photo coming soon) Indigenous Officer |
My name is Jacob Hyland and I am an Aniwan man from Armidale NSW. I am currently in my fourth year of Civil Engineering. I am passionate to get the role of Indigenous Officer at UNSW up and running and am keen to hear any concerns or answer any queries that you have. If you are keen to get involved send me an email or come along to one of our events! |

I'm Daphne Huang, a last year commerce student majoring in Finance and Business Law. I have always been interested in history and cooking, so spending time on Master Chef is the one and only entertainment after uni. It has been four years since I came to Australia; obviously the opportunity to study abroad is a fulfilling but challenging experience, both academically and personally. At the same time, problems like culture shock, academic difficulties and immigration issues in adjusting to university life are intensified for international students. Therefore, we deserve the same rights as local students and... |

(Photo coming soon) COFA Representative |
Hi, I am Laura. I am the COFA SRC Rep. I am doing a degree in Fine Arts. I am keen to be a part of the SRC this year as we have a shiny new campus, 600 new students and a returning cohort from far flung campuses. I believe the SRC is the perfect body to help make this new campus a home for COFA students. We also have a brand new curriculum for 2013. I am keen to hear from you what you think are important issues and events including how we can make the transition to the new campus and degree. |
