The Welfare Collective is a group of active
students, passionate about ensuring an accessible and affordable
uni experience regardless of socio-economic status.
We run campaigns such as increased funding for Youth Allowance,
plus textbook, food and student housing costs.
We also run the infamous FREE BREAKFAST stall outside the
library!

I'm Brad, a third year Software Engineering and Commerce student. Studying in one of the most expensive cities in the world means that not everyone is given the same chance at an education and at the quality of lifestyle they deserve. The Welfare team is there for you when you need a hand, and when something can be made better. We will run campaigns to help make food and living more affordable, to cut down on predatory behaviour and to try make your experience at UNSW as fulfilling as possible. I have many years of commercial and not-for-profit experience, but still learn something every day in this job. I'm proud to be working alongside some of the most knowledgeable and genuine people I have ever met! You can get involved in the many awesome Welfare events and projects over the year by looking us up on facebook or sending an email to welfare@arc.unsw.edu.au |

Hi, I'm Anna and I'm the SRC Co-Welfare Officer. I'm a fourth year Arts/Education student; majoring in English and minoring in History. My interests include literature, popular culture, history, ethics, art, international discourse, writing, economics, politics, and philosophy. I'm also passionate about human rights, social justice, humanitarian aid, grassroots activism, and eliminating the cycle of disadvantage and poverty. The SRC is committed to making life on campus more affordable, accessible and convenient for all students. The SRC Welfare department aims to ensure each student has the opportunity to enjoy university. They help with matters that range from housing and Centrelink to getting cheap food on campus. They run a free breakfast each week; and also run the Welfare Room in the Blockhouse. Students who are passionate about welfare issues can get involved by joining the UNSW Welfare Collective, and actively participating in their social events, campaigns and other volunteer work. Send an email to: welfare@arc.unsw.edu.au if you're interested! |
