Are you looking to move into video and digital art? Or maybe you need to freshen up your AV install skills? Learn how to get your video from your computer screen into the gallery with this AV Install Skills Workshop! We will teach you the basics of file types and formats, media players, displays and projectors, sound equipment and cable and power management. Led by an industry professional!

May 3 – How to Apply for Exhibitions // Lecture – Verge Gallery, Darlington
Hear from industry professionals from three galleries with tricks and hints for getting your exhibition application noticed! Get advice on introducing your exhibition, writing a conceptual statement, how to select images and present yourself professionally when trying to get your art shown in a range of different spaces.

May 5 – How to Apply for Exhibitions // Workshop – Verge Gallery, Darlington
Join Sian from Verge Gallery and Luke from Kudos Galley for a hands-on workshop where you will get specific feedback and advice on your own work and applications you are working on.
Bring: A draft exhibition application and/or a previous exhibition application that was not successful so that Sian and Luke can take a look and workshop ideas with you.

Aug 14 – Essential Practical Install // Workshop – KUDOS Gallery, Paddington

Learn how to install artworks of all shapes and sizes and how to de-install your work correctly! We will teach you the basics of picture hanging and mounting, patching and painting, and installing difficult or non-traditional artworks just like they do at the major galleries! Suitable for artists, curators and designers who are novice installers, or those looking for a skills refresh!

Aug 30 – How to Apply for Grants // Lecture – Verge Gallery, Darlington
Hear as industry professionals present tips and tools for getting your grant application noticed. What should you apply for? How should you talk about your project? What are the do’s and don’ts when talking about your work or project? This lecture will give usable examples and tricks of the trade for successfully getting some $ and also make you feel better when you don’t.

Sept 1 – How to Apply for Grants // Workshop – Verge Gallery, Darlington
Join special industry guests for a hands-on workshop where you will get specific feedback and advice on grant applications that have been unsuccessful, and edits for grant applications that you are working on.
Bring: A draft grant application and/or a previous grant application that was not successful so that industry guests can take a look and workshop ideas with you.
