UNSW Art & Design in it's physical space might be a small campus, however that doesn't make it any less confusing than big school (Kensington campus). UNSW A&D, and it's surrounding suburb Paddington, is a clandestine rabbit warren of hidden gems, surprises and secrets. To help you discover the campuses best kept treasures we've collected all the essentials (and way more of course)! On the D block side of the courtyard is the student centre which your first port of call for faculty student administrative services! The student centre is here to help you with special consideration, borrowers cards, or enrolement questions. Our mates at the student centre can also help you find info on any course or program of study.
If you're a post grad and want to apply for after hours access you can go and speak to the student centre too, they'll point you in the right direction!

CSU is located on the second floor of D-Block and provides first level technical support for staff and students. They are the people to go to if you want to conenct your laptop, phone, ipad or other web -enabled device to the uniwide WiFi service. The staff at CSU can also help you with password issues, printing from Uni computers or lend you a wacom and other gizmos and gadgets!

The resource centre is located in D-Block level 1. Here you can loan all kinds of equipmentsuch as slide projectors, HDV camcorders, microphones and field sound recorders, to produce a broad range of art and design based imagery and presentations for teaching and learning. The best part is its totally FREE; you can hire all the cool gadgets for nothing!
Standard loan times are generally for 24 hours or over weekends.

The Tool Room, located on the Ground Floor F-Block, FG04, is where you can borrow almost any tool or piece of hardware you can imagine! the staff and facilities are available to all UNSW Art & Design students no matter what your area of study is. Use it to get technical advice on art and design making or materials, find out about health and safety, and sign up for workshop or equipment inductions at the beginning of each semester so you can learn how to use the various rooms and tools. Once you have completed the inductions you can then use the wood, metal, plaster and fabrication workshops also located on the ground floor. Make sure you get in ASAP though because the inductions fill up quickly.

Paddington campus is home to a huge range of diverse and exciting studio spaces! The spaces you use will largely depend on your area of interest. You’re able to use any of the studio areas outside of allocated class times. You will however need to do the appropriate inductions and WHS for each area you would like to use. some studios areas include:

The UNSW Paddington Library in the upper courtyard is one of the ve special libraries at the UNiversity of New South Wales. The Library supports teaching, learning and research in the areas of art, design and media books, journals and multimedia including online formats. Group and wuiet study areas, as well as lounge areas. The library staff are all really friendly and helpful if you have questions! You can also book a one on one research consultation with a librarian if you;re not sure where to start your research, you can do this through the UNSW library websaite.

students at the UNSW KEnsington campus library, AGNSW Research Library and Archive, USYD Libraries, NSW State Library as well as local libraries in Marrickville, Warringah and Pittwater
FM are the cool guys who look after the campus grounds, repairs, maintenance and lost property. If you see something broken or not working on campus (like a toilet that’s over owed) Let them know and they’ll x it ASAP! We also send any lost property we find their so be sure to check in wit them if you lose something. They’re located on the ground or of F-Block.
UNSW Art & Design has several Security guards who patrol the campus 24 hours a day. Please report any security concerns you may have to Facilities Management.

Campus Security can sometimes be contacted on Ph: 0478 882 362. If a door to a room you need to enter is locked, you can also give them a call; ensure you have your student card with you so that you can show the security guard you are a student and have appropriate access for the required location.
Printers and photocopiers are available on level 1 and level 2 of D-block and in the library. To print you will need to load up some money to your student card. This can be done via EFTPOS at the library or online. you can also rint directly from your laptop or web-enabled device, just go to http://wirelessprinting. unsw.edu.au and login using your Z-number and Z-pass.
The offices for academics are mostly found on level 2 of F-Block. The room number of staff teaching your course, along with consultation hours, should be listed in your course outline. If you need to speak to someone and aren’t sure who, or where to find them, speak to the student centre for advice. Alternatively, you can head to the staff profiles section on the UNSW Art & Design Website to find specific staff office locations.

Central station: 20 minute walk
via Albion Street
Museum station: 15 minute walk via Oxford Street

Ride the FREE shuttle bus between UNSW Paddington and Kensington Campuses. The shuttle service runs throughout O-week
and semester, including examination periods. The shuttle service does not operate during holiday periods.
Bus route – the Shuttle bus picks up from inside Gate 8, High Street Kensington (up near the library!) and drops off on Greens road Paddington in front of the loading dock. See opposite page for timetable.
The shuttle bus also stops at King street campus on route to Kensington Campus at 1.45pm and 6.15pm ONLY.

If you are driving to UNSW Art & Design keep in mind there is limited street parking available in the local Paddington area.
You will be able to find 1 hour parking spaces on South Dowling St, Napier St, Greens Rd, Albion Ave, Church St, Selwyn St, Josephson St and Iris St. You are also able to find 4 hour parking spots on Greens Rd, however keep in mind Street parking is limited so public transport might be your best option!
You can also stop in the Art & design loading bay to unload or pack those bulky artworks and materials that need to travel long distances! The loading bay has spaces for disabled parking and stops are usually for 15 minutes at a time.
If you need to fill up there's a 7/eleven petrol station on the Cnr of Oxford St and Greens Rd.
