Netball

Whether you're looking for a social sport or something more competitive, UNSW Netball club offers something for everyone!

The club is highly active both on the court and off, with many social events through the year and many teams (womens, mens and mixed) playing in a wide range of competitions.

What you can expect

The club is an open netball club catering for UNSW students, staff and alumni as well as students from other universities and other players who are wanting to play in the Randwick Netball Association Saturday competition. We generally have a Uni-age demographic and try to run social events (COVID permitting) so that club members can meet new people. We currently only cater to females, as the Saturday competition is our main focus.

Competition

We are predominantly competitive; however, we are hoping to provide a social competition opportunity for beginners this year, which will be 'off-season' to our usual Saturday competition, allowing new players to join a social competition at intervals throughout the year.

We are NOT the UniGames team, however, we do have tight links with the UniGames netball team and will facilitate/refer any student players wanting to represent UNSW at a higher level.

Trials

Saturday 13th February, Wednesday 17th February, Saturday 20th February

NOTE: all new players must attend 1 of these sessions, as well as the Club Round Robin on Saturday 27th February

Training times and locations

Training on Wednesday nights between 6.30pm-9pm at the Village Green netball courts, on lower campus. Specific training time will differ depending on each player’s team allocation but there are 2 sessions run, 1-1.5 hours long.

Costs

Baseline for season fees are $310, playing dress is $70 (but there are 2nd hand options available) and there are weekly umpiring fees (but this is split between the team and usually only equates to ~$50 for a 5mth season)
