Sales Intern

The Sales Intern provides quality administration support to the Sales Team at TFE Hotels

Designed to provide exposure to a broad range of sales functions, the sales internship is given the opportunity to work across varied projects with valuable experience in generalist sales practices, competitor information, communication skills, database management, implementation of MICE newsletter and other adhoc projects within an Australian based global organisation.

Job Description

  • Consolidation of Travel Agent and MICE database
  • Collation of quotes for client submissions
  • Ensuring that our TMC partners have annual action plans in place nationally
  • Our online MICE listings are upto date with valid content and images
  • Build quarterly sales presentations for client engagements
  • Instrumental in setting up of a MICE newsletter and a system to collate content from hotels and draft MICE newsletter on a monthly basis for implementation
  • Carry out ongoing competitor analysis
  • Telecalling
  • Fill in and support various sales functions where needed
  • Assist in the organising of industry related functions, hotel promotions and events, and relevant Trade Shows.
  • Telemarketing programs completed to drive acquisition accounts across the TFE group and in particular to need properties.
  • Consult and engage with others in the team and in other teams and departments
  • Project work in preparation and coordination of tradeshows and promotions Assist with projects as directed


Skills Required

•         Completed or currently completing tertiary qualifications in Hotel Management, Business or related

•         Ability to effectively learn and quickly apply new knowledge and skills at work

•         Excellent planning and organising skills with a high level of attention to detail

•         Demonstrated problem solving capabilities

•         Strong work ethic and a can-do attitude with a and hunger to learn and desire to grow and develop

•         Professionalism including presentation and grooming

•         Ability to work well under pressure

•         Able and willing to perform repetitive tasks

•         Exceptional written and oral communication in business English

•         Excellent computer and technology skills including Proficiency with Microsoft Office ( Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

•         Able to work independently as well as a team player

•         Strong personal organisational skills
