Three Foot Square is an alternative exhibition space, located at Gate 1 beside the main entrance to the UNSW Paddington Campus. It is made up of two small exhibition venues taking the form of a window gallery and is illuminated at night, presenting art to the public 24/7.
Three Foot Square is the campus’ most intimate and most accessible exhibition space that continues Sydney’s tradition of “hole-in-the-wall” galleries.
The window gallery was built in 2002 and originally located at the Greens Road entrance. It was started as an initiative of Dr Alan Krell and his first year Bachelor of Art Theory students to provide an opportunity for students and staff to showcase their work to the general public, providing an experience of contemporary art without having to step inside a traditional gallery space.
During semester one, the space will be curated Kudos Committee member, and Bachelor of Art Theory students Carla Jamieson and Jaclyn Fenech.
