Foodbank NSW & ACT fights hunger by sourcing and distributing food for people in need. Volunteers are essential to their operation, providing more than 400,000 meals each week.

Join Volunteers United and Foodbank NSW & ACT for a hands-on Food Rescue shift where you'll sort, label, and package donated groceries that would otherwise go to waste. You'll help portion fresh produce, relabel items for redistribution, and prepare food for families experiencing food insecurity across NSW and ACT. This is direct-impact volunteering—if volunteers don't show up, food can't be distributed and people go hungry.

What you'll be doing:

  • Sorting and labelling donated groceries that would otherwise go to waste
  • Bagging fresh produce into portions for distribution
  • Relabelling items so they can be redistributed to families in need
  • Supporting Foodbank's mission to provide 400,000+ meals each week
