Objects in Orbit

Kudos presents Objects in Orbit, a rules-based artists’ assemblage project where nine interdisciplinary artists contribute objects to create a collective installation.

The project emphasises space and materiality, guided by a set of limiting rules— no drilling, no damage to the space, no wall placement, and each object must interact with at least one other. These limitations challenge artists to move beyond traditional methods of showcasing their work, embracing the ephemerality of co-creation and the dynamic interplay between space, objects, and collaboration. The resulting installations are intentionally open to interpretation.

The two-week exhibition presents four durational performances featuring two groups of artists and two performers. During the opening, the first five artists will activate their installations through live modifications, accompanied by two bamboo-synergised performances. In the Second Week Transformation, the remaining five artists will reshape and reimagine the installations through processes of modification and addition. The exhibition culminates in a performative finale, where the artists come together to dismantle the assemblage, staging the process of undoing and unpacking.
