Dayna is a year 5 UNSW Student who originates from the very small town of Arno Bay in the Eyre Peninsula, SA. Before beginning medicine, she undertook a year of psychology at the University of South Australia. Currently, Dayna is studying at the rural campus of Albury/ Wodonga, which means she has a foot either side of the Victorian border!

Dayna's first real kitchen experience was working during recess and lunch at her school canteen in Year 7, for $5 a day and a pie or pasty. She graduated to the role of dishwasher at the local pub where she worked her way up to waitress, pizza cook and eventually cook. In this role, at 17, Dayna was running the kitchen over lunch and evening meal times cooking everything from schnitzels and steaks to seafood. Her favourite part of the job was coming up with different specials each day.

Dayna's interest in food was rekindled through studying medicine and learning about the preventative and therapeutic effects of nutrition and diet. She now enjoys cooking at home for her housemates and friends, with her specialty being a vegan brunch!
