COVID Safe Regulations - David Phillips Sports Complex

Thanks for checking out the sporting facilities at UNSW. Please take a moment to read the following information before continuing.

These regulations have been put in place by Arc @ UNSW in conjunction with UNSW under the NSW Health Guidelines for Sport to ensure the continued safe operations of sporting activities at the David Phillips Sports Complex.

Total Capacity of Venue: 3,000 people

All UNSW Club and External Booking Organisers must:

  • EVERYONE entering the facility must scan in using the NEW NSW Government (Service NSW) registered QR Code. Clubs and other venue hirers are responsible for ensuring sign-in occurs when using DP. This is for Arc and UNSW staff also (it does not include NSW Waratahs) 
  • The NEW QR codes will be placed at all gates for patrons to sign in; capacity limit signage will also be placed at all gates
  • Hand sanitiser is encouraged upon entry
  • Only enter through their allocated gate
  • Communicate relevant protocols to opposition/external teams/clubs/match officials/competition organisers
  • Endorse the “Get In, Train, Get Out” philosophy. This means players should arrive at the ground dressed and ready to train/play
  • Clubs are not required to have a COVID Safe Marshall at DP however it is encouraged 


All UNSW Club and External Booking Organisers must NOT:

  • Have their own canteen/BBQ or sell food/beverages to patrons
  • Consume alcohol on the premises
  • Smoke on the premises
  • Use changeroom/shower facilities
  • DP South changeroom is NOT to be used as a changeroom
    • To use DP South Amenities as a meeting venue, clubs must notify Arc Sport. The capacity is 18 people (1 to 4 m2)


Open Amenities:

  • Assigned Toilets
  • First Aid Room
  • Assigned taps to fill drink bottles
  • Storerooms to access gear only (no congregating)
  • Central amenities cafe

Closed Amenities:

  • Changerooms including showers
  • Indoor areas with the exception of collecting equipment or accessing first aid

Players, Officials & Spectators

Spectators are now permitted into DP under the provision they adhere to social distancing

  • Patrons may enter DP using any gate; however, it is recommended that patrons continue using the entry point closest to their field where possible 
  • EVERYONE entering the facility must scan in using the NEW NSW Government (Service NSW) registered QR Code. Clubs and other venue hirers are responsible for ensuring sign-in occurs when using DP. This is for Arc and UNSW staff also (it does not include NSW Waratahs) 
  • The NEW QR codes will be placed at all gates for patrons to sign in; capacity limit signage will also be placed at all gates 
  • Spectators are allowed and must adhere to spacing of 1.5m between individuals (unless from the same household). Clubs and other venue hirers are responsible for ensuring this is adhered to when using DP 
  • Only use allocated bathrooms and drinking taps
  • Adhere to the “Get In, Train, Get Out” philosophy. This means players should arrive at the ground dressed and ready to train/play, and depart as soon as cool down is complete
  • Comply with the conditions of entry of David Phillips Sports Complex

  2. This gate is ONLY to be used for all activities that are taking place on the Tennis Courts, Synthetic Hockey and Synthetic Football Pitch.
  3. Enter via the stairs and exit via the ramp

David Phillips North

  2. This gate is ONLY to be used for all activities that are taking place on David Phillips North

Gate 7 - Cooks Avenue

David Phillips South
