Every month, PGC elects an Ambassador of the Month for their contribution in improving the postgraduate community. Helping other postgraduates can manifest itself in many forms - whether it be through providing emotional support, teaching others the ropes or even throwing kick-ass postgrad parties.
This month, we congratulate Vishnu Nair on being awarded the PGC Ambassador of the Month!
Hello to all my fellow mates at UNSW, this is Vishnu Nair. I am a current postgraduate student pursuing my majors in Mechanical Engineering. I have been quite actively involved with the student community serving at different clubs and societies. My involvement with the student community started off as a cultural mentor at UNSW wherein I assisted the international students to transition into university life in a foreign country while solving their issues. Now, my present involvement with the PGC is under the newly formed media and marketing committee wherein I cover precious moments of student life at university through events and one which students’ would cherish after graduation. During my time at UNSW, I have met several people who have inspired me to give back to the student community which has helped shape my overall personality and will continue to serve in the best of my abilities. I would explicitly look back upon and cherish my time at university in the longer run.
For a special PGC Female Ambassador of the Month for May, we are calling for entries from female-identifying postgraduates. If you believe that a student within your faculty has made contributions to improving life and learning for other postgraduates, nominating them for Ambassador of the Month is a great opportunity to recognise their contribution! Nominations closes May 14th 11:59pm. Click here for more information and to apply.
