Framework is Arc @ UNSW Art & Design's critical arts journal, which aims to facilitate, promote, and celebrate arts writing and critical dialogue around our campus.
Students work closely with the Writer's Co-ordinator to edit and develop their writing, which is published twice a semester - in week 6 and week 12. In 2017, Framework will be published online as a fixed layout epub, which means that contributors will have the freedom to include interactive media such as videos, audio, gifs and animation in their writing. This decision was made to encourage experimental, avant-garde and fictocritical approaches to arts writing, however Framework will publish a mix of experimental and more conventional reviews, interviews, essays and articles.
How you can contribute to Framework
There are opportunities for experimental and conventional approaches to arts writing and pieces will be chosen at the discretion of the Writer's Co-ordinator after contributors have pitched their ideas. In previous years, Framework has had a skeletal structure that looks like:
2 x 1000 word features
2 x 500 word reviews
1 x student profile
1 x Q&A with a UNSW Art & Design graduate
1 x experimental writing piece
Register your interest as a writer by emailing the Writer's Co-ordinator for 2017, Emma Size at email@example.com or by applying through orgsync here!
