Anti-Poverty Week

Make a difference by helping with fundraising on campus and raising awareness on poverty issues by handing out pamphlets.

Anti-Poverty Week supports the Australian community to have an increased understanding of poverty and to take action collectively to end it. During this week, all Australians are encouraged to take action and focus on positive solutions to end poverty.

Volunteer by selling/serving doughnuts and raising awareness on poverty issues by handing out pamphlets. All funds raised will go to St Laurence House.

St Laurence House is a charity that seeks to provide accommodation, care and support to homeless children and young people (as well as those at risk of homelessness, and those who have experiences trauma or loss). It works to help children and young people to get back on their feet and be able to support themselves.

The programs run by St Laurence House include its provision of trauma- informed care, a residential program and the STAY Outreach program. These are run alongside the Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) Program which is regulated by the NSW Department of Family and Community Services. The STAY Outreach program in particular focuses on providing support to 16-25 year olds who are at support of becoming homeless.
