Updates from our PGC officers

International

On 9th of March PGC International Committee held the first for this year, its flagship Postgraduate Pub event. Event participants had a chance to meet over food and drinks and network with their fellow postgraduate students. Additionally, students met in person with PGC VP International, International Liaison and Committee member and discussed international student concerns and shared with their feedback. We believe this event was one small step towards increasing engagement and networking among students and we will continue to create such platforms in future!

On 25th of March, UNSW Postgraduate Council, International Committee, in collaboration with OSGAG, SDGFC, and PLACE of Arizona State University, hosted the first of its kind International Networking session. During the event students from UNSW and Arizona State University discussed the student life in both universities and countries, exchanged with different learning techniques and study habits as well as they learned about social life at both universities. The event gave immersive experience of cultural exchange and networking with fellow students studying in two different sides of the world.

Paid Resarch Opportunity!

PhD with Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA).

The purpose of this research is to learn more about how the unique patterns of electrical activity in your brain (your brain waves) might influence sensitivity to pain. You will get to wear the fetching cap we use to measure brain waves (as modeled here by lovely Christian). We hope this research can be used in future to help people living with persistent pain.

So, if you are healthy, currently pain free, and are interested in earning $50 while helping scientific progress, let me know!

Keen? Then email me at modulate@neura.edu.au or call (02 9399 1864) to find out more!
