Roundhouse welcomes the next generation of UNSWs brightest hopefuls

12 June 2018 | CASE STUDY

UNSW Future Students hosted two undergraduate information evenings at the Roundhouse to showcase the university to future scholars in our iconic venue.

The Brief

On Thursday 14 and Wednesday 20 June 2018, we welcomed over 1,500 potential students and their parents to campus for a series of information sessions. These sessions were designed to inform those seeking to enhance their qualifications and advance their careers at New South Wales' highest ranked University.

The event required a plenary space for up to 800 delegates; multiple, flexible breakout rooms for smaller sessions; and an exhibition area for sponsors and partners.

UNSW Future Students were looking for a venue that puts its best foot forward to represent the University, while facilitating a comfortable, innovative and seamless event experience to engage and excite attendees. That's where we came in.

The Solution

UNSW Future Students chose the Roundhouse because of its fresh new look, innovative tech specs and the ability to host a large number of attendees and concurrent sessions within one space.

Cherie Farr, Future Students Event Coordinator, commented "the newly refurbished venue and the ability to fulfil high capacity for attendees was a great way to showcase the new look and state-of-the-art presentation."

The round, main room served as the main space for a TED-X style event with presentations across three screens and UNSW branded wash lighting across the ceiling. Attendees then moved to Level 1 to smaller sessions from various university faculties in our eight breakout spaces, then through to Club Bar to browse the tabletop exhibition space.

The Results

The three-screen setup in the main room, unique venue experience and all-in-one event space created an energetic, exciting atmosphere throughout the event.

Chez Orchard, Head of Partnerships (Onshore) at UNSW, commented "The ease of attendees being able to move freely around the venue, the friendly look and feel and accessibility worked extremely well for our event. It was a first experience for many people attending university and also helped attract people to consider UNSW as the preferred university choice."
