Stationery Reuse Centre

Since 2000, the Stationery Reuse Centre have been kindly providing UNSW students and staff with sweeeeeeet free stationery and reducing unnecessary contributions to landfill. We're located L1 of the Quad Building, East Wing (next to Quad 1001), and are open Mon-Fri 10am-5pm, during session.

The Stationery Reuse Centre welcome external donations, and love to receive emails from people and companies interested in recycling stationery! Fill in our donation form for any donation requests and to arrange delivery. If you have further questions or queries, please get in touch through our email below.

Whether you’re a stationery addict or passionate about environmental sustainability, lend us a hand in manning Arc’s free recycled stationery centre! With duties from contacting businesses to source stock, to promoting our wares to students, the Stationery Reuse Centre is always looking for extra helpful hands to hand out pens and pencils!

Stationery Reuse Centre volunteers will have opportunities to develop their communication skills, build connections with like-minded students and various organisations, as well as gaining experience in logistics and promotions.

Volunteer Testimonials

"Last semester I began volunteering with Uni at the Stationery Reuse Centre and it was the best step I took to kick up the dull routine of study. Each week was a different experience given the opportunity to help other students. I got more involved with the program by joining the Publicity and Events team where we got to plan fun parties and events for the volunteers. The most amazing part was making great unique friends from all different faculties and years. You’ll meet the nicest people volunteering and I’d recommend to anyone to get involved with the centre."  -Brian (right)

"Joining the Stationery Reuse Centre was a very significant part of my university life here at UNSW and it's one I won't soon forget. From your shift partners, to the awesome stationery and even the rare computer monitor, wristwatch or wedding decorations that enter the door of the centre, it's without a doubt a great program to be apart of. Personally, it allowed me to develop my organisational skills as well as the confidence to talk to people I wouldn't normally converse with. It's enabled me to take initiative whilst promoting the 'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" motto and in doing so, I've made the greatest mates anyone could ever have. All in all, it's the perfect program for anyone to get their foot in the 'volunteering at UNSW' door or maybe you're a volunteering veteran and you'd like a bit of a challenge. Whatever the case, the Stationery Reuse Centre is sure to light up your face! "-Kevin (left)

Meet your Stationery Reuse Student Coordinator

Hi! My name is Lucy and I’m the Stationery Reuse Centre Coordinator. I am in my second year of studying Commerce and Economics.

I’m an avid fluffy animal lover so when I’m not busy being distracted by stationery (yes, I’m looking at you glitter gel pens), I’ll probably be in my garden playing with my two cute bunnies. I am way too fascinated by stationery and am passionate about the little things that we can do in our daily lives to help the environment.

Having participated in the program last year, I can genuinely say that I had a really great time volunteering and made some great friends along the way. This year, I’ll be overseeing the centre and it’s volunteers while promoting environmental sustainability within the UNSW community so that we can all preserve the environment together. Whether you love stationery like me or are passionate about the environment, we’d love to have your help in running the centre!
