International Cookbook Student Coordinator

Employment Status: Casual 
Hours Worked: 15 hrs per week

Special Conditions: Successful applicant must be available during the mid year break
Location: The position works across the Kensington campus and the COFA campus, Paddington

Arc @ UNSW is currently seeking suitable applicants for the position of Student Coordinator for the International Cookbook. Celebrate diversity by coordinating a UNSW student International cookbook publication and manage a volunteer team of students of editors, designers and photographers.

Selection Criteria - Essential

  • At least 12 months university enrolment and a substantial period of University volunteer experience;
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written);
  • Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures;
  • An understanding of and an ability to act with tact and discretion;
  • Good time management and organisational skills;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other team members;
  • Understanding of, and commitment to the principles of Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action and Occupational Health and Safety;
  • Demonstrated initiative and capacity to perform appropriate office and reception procedures;
  • Demonstrated competency with software for word processing;
  • Familiarity with data entry in established databases;
  • Demonstrated ability to use email, and conduct searches on the world wide web;
  • Demonstrated ability to establish a customer service environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately and with a high level of attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision;

Desirable

  • Experience in volunteer programs or previous involvement in other campus activities;
  • Demonstrated understanding of cultural diversity issues and awareness;
  • Experience working with Indigenous Australians;
  • Experience working with volunteers;
  • Experience in fundraising;
  • Experience in maintaining a budget.
