Five Queer Charities That Your Event Can Partner With

With Mardi Gras right around the corner, our team at the Roundhouse are doing our role in society to work towards equality and inclusion for all LGBTIQ+. Here are 5 queer charities your event can partner with this Mardi Gras! 

1. Pride Foundation Australia 

Pride Foundation Australia is a philanthropic foundation that provides funding for projects and issues that address the systemic disadvantage of LGBTIQA+ communities and individuals in Australia. With dedicated research, you can get involved with Pride Foundation Australia by partnering and increasing the funding pool that is becoming more available for LGBTIQA+ organisations. 2. ACON 

ACON is an organization that was created in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in NSW. Established in 1985, ACON is a global leader on community health and inclusion and creating opportunities for people in the LGBTIQA+ communities to live healthy lives. 3. Black Rainbow 

Black Rainbow is a national Indigenous owned and operated NFP that aims to support the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTIQA+ community in reaching positive health and wellbeing. With Black Rainbow’s advocacy, leadership and solutions, community initiatives and projects are created to better support the community in identifying and addressing the social and cultural determinants of wellbeing concerning Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who identify as LGBTIQ+. Get involved with Black Rainbow by contributing to research or donate to the organisation! 

4. Intersex Human Rights Australia 

Intersex Human Rights Australia (IHRA) is a national body operated and dedicated to support people with Intersex variations. To rid the stigma against intersex individuals, Intersex Human Rights builds a community, evidence, capacity and information to better equip society with the right resources to recognise the proper rights of intersex people. 5. Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby 

The Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby (GLRL) is an organisation that has been leading the fight for legal equality for both gay men, lesbians and families. Current campaigns from the organisation include reforming anti-discrimination legal powers against LGBTIQA+ people. You can get involved by joining the social action, donating and volunteering for the organisation here.
