Cheerleading Society (Cheersoc)
Aims of the Club

  • To promote health, fitness, fun and team building amongst the club's members
  • To promote UNSW spirit within the university and in the wider community
  • To establish ourselves as a recognised competitive cheerleading squad within Australia's cheerleading community


2009 Activities

  • Weekly training, 5.30pm-7pm Mondays for the Pom Squad and 5.30pm-7.30pm Wednesdays for the Stunt Squad. 
  • Competing in Australian All Star Cheerleading Federation competitions at state, national and international showdown level in the Cheer, Pom and Group Stunt divisions.
  • Competing in World Cup Cheerleading competitions in the Cheer and Group Stunt divisions at state level. 
  • Various performances for university events such as O-week and Foundation Day.
  • Appearance of the Stunt Squad on Thursday Night Live on Channel One HD, 1st October 2009
  • Performance by the Pom Squad at the NRL Fever Festival at Martin Place, 2nd October 2009
