TALKIN’ ABOUT TALKIN’ ABOUT ART
6 June 2018, 11am - 2pm.
Location: Kudos Gallery
Runway Australian Experimental Art Journal and Kudos Gallery present a round-table forum that brings three writers together to discuss the art of writing about art. Split into three sections, the workshop begins with the writers describing how they approach, perhaps, the hardest of all authorial feats: capturing a fluid performance on the static page. Next, the gallery will be animated with action as the writers and the attendees watch a live performance. And last, all participants will have a chance to write about, and discuss, what they just saw. The workshop aims to give attendees not only an insight into the process of writing, but also the opportunity to participate in it – with everyone being given pen and paper at the start of the event. The floor will be given to the crowd to ask questions, air grievances, and – if they dare – read out a few lines of what they wrote. Here, we present a conversation rather than a lecture.
TALKIN’ ABOUT TALKIN’ ABOUT ART is presented as a companion to Kudos Live Volume 3. Kudos Live is a live performance event held twice yearly by Kudos Gallery. Volume 3 will be curated by Kate Stodart and will present a series of performances across the UNSW Art & Design Campus on 5 June 2018, 5 - 9pm.
The writers workshop will be held on the June 6 at Kudos Gallery.
Registration is required.
