Sydney Dogs & Cats Home is Sydney's only registered charity pound, providing shelter, care, and rehoming support for lost and abandoned dogs and cats.
Join Volunteers United and Sydney Dogs & Cats Home for a creative 2-hour crafternoon where you'll make snuffle mats - enrichment toys that provide mental stimulation, foraging opportunities, and comfort for animals in the shelter's care. You'll tie fabric strips through rubber mats, creating colourful toys that help dogs and cats settle, relax, and thrive as they wait for their forever homes.
What you'll be doing:
- Tying fabric strips through holes in rubber mats
- Creating snuffle mats that promote mental enrichment for shelter animals
- Learning about the shelter's work reuniting, rehabilitating and rehoming pets
- Making toys that improve animals' wellbeing and comfort

Volunteer shift: 10:00 am–12:00 pm

Materials provided:
Volunteers United will provide:
- Fabric strips (variety of colours and textures)
- Rubber mats with pre-drilled holes
- All materials for mat assembly
