Vinnies Vans are mobile outreach services providing meals, snacks, blankets, toiletries, hot beverages, and most importantly, companionship and referrals to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness across the Bayside area (Eastlakes, Chifley, Coogee) every day of the week.
Join Volunteers United, St Vincent de Paul Society, and the UNSW Arc Food Hub for a hands-on, team-based sandwich-making competition where you'll prepare meals that will be distributed to people experiencing homelessness in the Bayside area via Vinnies Vans that same night. This is a direct-impact volunteering opportunity where your work reaches people in need within hours.
What you'll be doing:
- Competing in teams to assemble sandwiches in a fun, production-line style
- Preparing snack packs and toiletry packs for distribution
- Learning about Vinnies Van outreach services and homelessness support
- Creating meals that will be handed out on van patrols later that evening
