WAGEC (Women and Girls Emergency Centre) provides crisis accommodation and support services for women and children escaping domestic violence. Their refuge houses offer safe, confidential spaces where families can rebuild their lives.

Join Volunteers United and WAGEC for a hands-on painting day where you'll help transform the external spaces of a refuge house, creating a welcoming and uplifting environment for the women and children who call it home. This is a rare opportunity to make a direct, tangible impact on the lives of people in crisis while learning about WAGEC's vital work in the community.

What you'll be doing:

  • Painting approximately 15 meters of fencing using water-based paint
  • Prepping surfaces and assisting with creative colour choices
  • Touring the refuge site and receiving an induction from the WAGEC team
  • Supporting setup and cleanup throughout the day
