If you’re regular ham and cheese toastie just isn’t cutting it, try spicing things up by adding a unique condiment to it. Assuming you’re already sick and tired of eating everything with tomato sauce, one of these should add some flavour to your next meal.

1)    Sriracha

The ultimate hot sauce. It’s a little bit spicy and a little bit sweet. Add it to your salads and sandwiches for an extra burst of flavour. And if you’re feeling extra adventurous, try it with some homemade dumplings or even a plain protein like chicken. Sriracha is generally quite mild in spice as well, so even the mildest of palates can stomach a small amount.

2)    Nando’s Peri Peri Sauce

Why trek 15 minutes out from the comfort of your home when you can DIY your own Nando’s experience at home for half the cost? Nando’s Peri Peri sauce is mouth wateringly good at every spice level (yes, even at the lemon and herb level). To recreate a Nando’s feast, all you need to do is head to your local supermarket and buy a roast chicken, oven-roasted chips and of course the Peri Peri sauce.

3)    Pesto

Arguably the number one ingredient that will make any amateur chef appear a culinary master, pesto pasta is so simple yet so delicious that all of your friends will be wondering whether you spent that two week break between T1 and T2 in Italy mastering the art of pasta. All you need to do is purchase a bottle of pesto and your choice of pasta (works best with linguine), boil the pasta, scoop some pesto, add some parmesan cheese, and the end product is a success. A dish loved by all pasta noobs, this one is budget friendly and can definitely last you multiple meals and even multiple servings.
