Submission Guidelines
UNSWeetened accepts short fiction, creative non-fiction, and poetry from students attending UNSW. All shortlisted works will undergo a collaborative editorial process, where authors will be encouraged to clarify their ideas and stylistic intentions. Please read these guidelines carefully and adhere to them to be considered for publication. We ask all authors to submit their works via the link on our website.
- Short fiction: up to 1500 words.
- Creative non-fiction: up to 1500 words.
- Poetry: up to 80 lines.
- Submissions close on the 20th of March 2026, 11:59pm.
Style Guide:
Font: Times New Roman, Arial, or other readable font in 10-13pt. Variety in font and font sizes are acceptable where justified.
Line spacing: 1 or 1.5 for poetry, 1.5 or 2.0 for prose
File Naming Convention: [CATEGORY]_[title]_Submission. E.g. POETRY_Kindness_Submission
UNSWeetened does not accept written works created by Generative AI in any form.
Include content warnings where appropriate.
Send your work through as a Word Document, not a PDF.
