Elections for 2025/2026 SRC

2025 /2026 STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL ELECTIONS

CANDIDATES FOR CONTESTED POSITIONS

An election will be held for the following contested positions:

Officers:

  • President
  • General Secretary
  • Education Officer
  • Welfare Officer
  • Women's Officer
  • Environment Officer
  • 1 Queer Officer
  • International Students' Officer
  • Students with Disabilities Officer
  • Indigenous Students' Officer
  • Ethno-Cultural Officer

Councillors:

  • Six (6) undergraduate (at least two (2) of whom must be women) Members from Electorate A as defined in these Regulations.
  • Six (6) undergraduate (at least two (2) of whom must be women) Members from Electorate B as defined in these Regulations.

Other positions:

  • 7 NUS Delegates

Uncontested Positions:

  • 1 Queer Officer
  • Paddington Representation Officer
  • Paddington Domestic Officer

Vacant Position:

  • Paddington International Officer 

VOTING

Voting to be held in week 7 (commencing 7:00AM Monday 27th October to 9:00PM Thursday 30th October). 

Voting will be held online only, via BigPulse.

*All eligible students will receive a voting link from BigPulse via their zID email address*

Who can vote:

All current UNSW students may vote in the election of these unrestricted positions:

  • President
  • General Secretary
  • Education Officer
  • Welfare Officer
  • Ethno-cultural Officer

All students may vote in the election of the NUS positions.

Students may vote in the election for the below positions however, the following restrictions apply:

• Only female identifying students may vote for the Women’s Officer.

• Only international students may vote for International Students’ Officer.

• Only students with a disability may vote for Students with Disabilities Officer.

• Only members of the Queer Collective at the close of Nominations may vote for the Queer Officers.

• Only students whose primary course/controlling school is based at Paddington Campus may vote for the Paddington Representation Officer.

• Only students whose primary course/controlling school is based at Paddington Campus AND are domestic students may vote for the Paddington Domestic Officer.

• Only Undergraduate students whose controlling faculty is within Electorate A may vote for the Undergraduate Councillor A positions

• Only Undergraduate students whose controlling faculty is within Electorate B may vote for the Undergraduate Councillor B positions

TERMS

Officers and Councillors hold office from 1 December 2025 until 30 November 2026. Officers and Councillors may only hold any one office for a maximum of 2 years.

If elected as an Office Bearer, you will be required to attend the following in-person compulsory sessions:

  • Tuesday 18th November (W10) | 9:30AM – 4:30PM | Introduction & Overview, Admin Processes, Misc. Training, Council Visions.
  • Thursday 20th Nov (W10) | 10AM – 4PM | Leadership Workshop, Gendered Violence Awareness & Response Training, Wellbeing Presentation.

CAMPAIGNING

Only UNSW students may campaign for the SRC elections (UNSW College students - previously 'Global' - may not campaign). 

All campaign material must state the name and student number of a candidate or ticket contact person who is authorising and taking responsibility for that material. Candidates and ticket organisers should ensure they understand the full campaigning rules, as breaches can lead to the disqualification of individuals or tickets.
