The Arc Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Arthy Mukunthan was unanimously elected as the Chair of the Board on 23 June 2023.
Arthy is transferring to Bachelor of Psychology; previously attended New College (and was their president) and been involved in a variety of Clubs & Societies.
Arthy said of her appointment,
My first experience seeing Arc was O-Week 2020 (and what better way is there to get introduced?) and my first experience as an Arc member was going to online paint ‘n’ sip events in lockdown.
Everyone at Arc has a genuine care for the individual student and what they experience at their time in uni. It's this exciting, creative and inclusive space with a passion for student life!
In her year-long tenure as Chair of the Arc Board, Arthy will oversee the strategic direction of one of the largest student organisations in Australia as they deliver on their mission to create the best student experience. The Arc Board of Directors is comprised of 15 people, the majority of which are current UNSW students – with 8 student directors plus the SRC President & PGC President.
When asked about her priorities for the next 12 months as the Chair of the Arc Board, Arthy said
It would be against my role description to not ensure alignment with Arc's Strategic Plan and our mission of creating the best student experience, but other than that I want to ensure a variety of voices and perspectives are heard and represented, facilitate learning and understanding for better decision-making at a strategic level, and try to maintain and grow the space we have going for students to get what they want out of their student life experience."

Also elected at the meeting were Oscar Iredale as Honorary Treasurer, Ella Davidson as Audit & Risk Chair, Natalie Newman as Nominations & Remunerations Chair and Hamish Covell as Student Development Convenor.
