AD Space is one of the hidden gems of Paddington campus, a unique on campus exhibition space accessible to the UNSW Art and Design community.
The gallery provide students with space to showcase their raw talent across the fields of art, design and digital media. AD Space is an exciting opportunity for students to create dialogue and networks with peers, staff, industry professionals and the general public. Historically, AD Space has played host to a number of distinguished annual events such as Jenny Birt Award, Fowlers Gap Field Trip Exhibitions, the Australian Decorative & Fine Arts Society Scholarship Exhibition, and the UNSW Art & Design Annual.
AD Space is proudly managed by Arc @ UNSW limited in partnership with UNSW Art & Design.
Programming for AD Space is run parallel to it's now big sister Kudos Gallery. The exhibition program is determined by the AD Space Coordinator and the Kudos Committee, which is made up of UNSW Art & Design UG and PG student reps. The committee holds regular meetings, run special projects including the annual Kudos Award, attend openings and raise the profile of the gallery. Participation on the Kudos Committee also acknowledged by UNSW on your'Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS)' upon graduating.
Not only is AD Space an outstanding opportunity for students to exhibit their work, it's also a challenging space that presents an invaluable educational opportunity for artists and designers alike. The Gallery consists of the front foyer space and the gallery space located outside EG02 lecture theatre. The Gallery itself maintains power access throughout the space. The gallery has two concrete walls and two plaster walls and also has cable hanging system capabilities with track lighting.
