Down to Earth

22 - 26 May

Opening: 6-8 PM,  22 May

Down to Earth brings together the work of individual artists who have all spent time at Fowler’s Gap Research Station, located in the arid zone of Australia, north of Broken Hill. This exhibition acts as a reference point upon which to gauge both the initial and ongoing influence that the experience of the Australian outback has had on the work of the artists participating in the exhibition. Representing artists across a vast range of disciplines, Down to Earth also provides an opportunity for reflection upon the ways in which art can facilitate communication and stimulate the development of creative communities.

Atanas Djonov

5 - 9 June

Opening: 5-8 PM, 5 June

The central piece of this exhibition is Compass II, a constructed new media environment for an interplay between audience members and its author.

The installation consists of a marine compass and four screens that are aligned with the four principal geographic directions (East, West, North and South).

Made from canvas and a rectangular wooden frame, each screen resembles a propaganda poster (agit-plakat).
