I am excited to express my interest in joining the ARC UNSW Canberra Executive Committee. Currently, I serve as a Student Representative for WIMSIG (Women in Mathematics Special Interest Group) under the Australian Mathematical Society. In this role, I work to support gender equity in the mathematical sciences, advocate for inclusive practices, and participate in national-level discussions on how to improve the visibility and participation of underrepresented groups in mathematics. I am particularly passionate about supporting diverse student voices, enhancing the student experience, and contributing to a vibrant and inclusive campus community.

I am nominating myself for Vice President (Postgrad) as I have held roles in student representation and event organising and enjoyed the impact my contributions made. CANDIDATE NAME : Rahul Deb Mohalder
zID : z5628476
CANDIDATE STATEMENT
I am nominating myself for Vice President (Postgraduate) because I am committed to ensuring postgraduate voices are heard, valued, and supported. I know what it's like to be a postgraduate because I've been involved in research, and student networks. They have to balance their studies, work, and personal life, and they also have to find ways to get the resources they need to improve academically and professionally. I will fight for better services for graduate students, better representation in academics, and events that are open to everyone and bring people together. With strong leadership, teamwork, and a vision for fairness, I will aim to make ARC Canberra a lively, welcoming place for all postgraduate students.
Vice president (UG)
CANDIDATE NAME : Giulia Pelizzari
zID : z5653372
CANDIDATE STATEMENT
The role of vice president is an important role that should be filled by someone reliable and willing to contribute. I’ve been an undergraduate before and suffered for poor organization from my university’s student association. Despite being a postgraduate I am confident I could still be a good fit for the role. I am a proactive person, and I already participated in the Language corner as a volunteer at this year Spring Festival. I also attended multiple ARC events previously. In Italy I was part of a team organising activities for high school students once a week for several years.

I’m approachable, reliable, and always happy to work with others to support the team. Together, we can keep the club strong, fun, and financially secure.
Secretary (Arc delegate)
CANDIDATE NAME : Darcy Byrne

CANDIDATE STATEMENT
Comrades! A functional executive requires a strong backbone in the form of a General Secretary. Famous Secretaries from the Asia Pacific region include Ho Chi Minh, Hu Jintao, Xi Jinping and Sally McManus. I promise to be no different. I shall keep time, agitate for the cause, and organise. As we say in Australia, vote early, vote often. Comrades, I put my fate in your hands, and with it, the fate of ARC Canberra in 2026.

CANDIDATE STATEMENT
I am an ideal candidate for the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Officer role as my academic and personal journey reflects resilience, cultural awareness, and commitment to inclusivity. As an international HDR student at UNSW Canberra, balancing research and family responsibilities, I understand the challenges faced by diverse and underrepresented students. I was also nominated by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs Exchange Program as a TechWomen Emerging Leader (2020–2021), where I received training in leadership, cultural exchange, and inclusion. These experiences empower me to embed equity, celebrate diversity, and promote genuine inclusion in the Arc community.
