FSHD | Sydney Chocolate Ball Event Volunteer

The Sydney Chocolate Ball offers a night like no other, where luxury meets purpose. Held at the iconic Sydney Event Centre, this extraordinary black-tie gala brings together leaders from the corporate, philanthropic and entertainment worlds for an evening dedicated to impact. More than an evening of elegance, the Chocolate Ball is a powerful platform for storytelling, generosity and hope.

Hosted by television presenter and media personality Sonia Kruger, guests will enjoy a chocolate-inspired three-course menu designed by celebrity chef Luke Mangan OAM, paired with fine French champagne, premium wines and world-class entertainment, including celebrity auctioneer Robert Klaric — all while supporting the life-changing work of the FSHD Global Research Foundation.

Now in its 15th year, the Sydney Chocolate Ball has become one of Australia’s most iconic charity events, raising more than $16 million to accelerate medical research, innovation and patient advocacy. Each year, the Ball brings together a community of generous supporters united by a shared belief that extraordinary progress is possible when people come together with purpose.

SHIFT DETAILS

Date: Saturday 24 October 2026

Location: Sydney Event Centre at The Star Casino

Shift Times: 

• Setup: 10AM to 3PM
• Event: 4PM to 12:30AM

Mandatory Briefing: A pre event briefing will be held before the event to provide you with further information about the day and also provide you with an opportunity to ask any questions. The briefing will be held on Wednesday 21 October 2026 at 7.00 pm via Zoom. Details will be provided via email once you have registered.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Setup: We require a team of volunteers to assist with the set up of the event at the venue. This is role requires manual labour and includes tasks such as opening boxes, packing gift bags, set tables with collateral, set up of silent auction areas, blowing up balloons, signage.

Event: We require a strong team of volunteers to assist with the smooth running of the event. Volunteer roles are mostly centered around the fundraising initiatives on the night. The event roles include table hosts, selling raffle tickets, collecting pledge forms, assisting guests with silent auction items, ushering guests to tables, taking payments, live auction spotting and assistance with pack up of the event.

Important: Volunteers must first sign up for the event via Rubric and then complete an additional registration step to finalise their spot. You’ll be guided through this process when signing up!
