Trans Hub 

TransHub is a platform that provides clear and easy information about gender affirmation in NSW for all trans people in the state. You’ll find information about social, medical and legal affirmation, as well as health and support resources- as well as their list of doctors which provide gender-affirming care in Australia.

UNSW gender affirmation support

Put in place by UNSW’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion team, this page has tools and templates to support gender affirmation. You can also find out how to get in touch with a Student Support Advisor/Support Person if you would like help navigating your gender affirmation.

Transcend Australia 

Transcend is a national registered charity and not for profit community-controlled organisation that provides programs and services to families and their trans young people. Transcend Australia works to support families, so that they can best support their children, as family support is critical to ensure that trans young people can enjoy better health outcomes as they age.

In partnership with AusPATH, Transcend has launched an evidence-based resource pack consisting of fact sheets that cover the following topics:

  • Puberty blockers
  • Trans positivity
  • Trans young people and the risk of suicide
  • Rapid onset Gender Dysphoria
  • Neurodiversity
  • Medical consent
  • Gender affirming Hormone Therapy
  • Detransition

Gender Expression Collective

The Gender Expression Collective was created to directly confront ongoing issues experienced by many trans and gender diverse people in the ACT and Surrounds when obtaining gender affirming items. Such as; financial limitations, access barriers, safety concerns, and location (shipping) barriers.

The Gender Centre

The Gender Centre develops services and activities which enhance the ability of transgender, gender diverse and gender exploring people to make informed choices. The Centre is recognised as a centre of excellence in NSW through an ASES Award Accreditation, (Australian Service Excellence Standards) and nationally in the delivery of front-line specialist multi-purpose services aimed at supporting the transgender, gender diverse and gender questioning community across all stages of transition (pre- mid and post transition).

Q Life 

QLife provides free peer supported nation-wide early intervention, telephone, and web-based services to support LGBTQ+ people of all ages. QLife is for LGBTIQ+ people and their loved ones wanting to talk about a range of issues including sexuality, gender, bodies, feelings, or relationships. While QLife does not provide specific advice or treatment for medical conditions, people who contact QLife may do so as a tool to support their mental health including but not limited to depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, gender dysphoria, and loneliness 

Twenty 10 

Twenty10 supports LGBTQ+ people across NSW by providing free, accessible mental health and support programs along with creative and digital initiatives. They provide support to young LGBTIQA+ people with housing, counselling and training.

Get involved with the Queer Collective

The UNSW Queer Collective is a community where you can lay foundations of queer chosen family, access further resources, and access the lived experience of hundreds of other queer people. From advice on hairdressers/barbers to trying out new clothes in our community wardrobe Queer Co is a group for queer people by queer people.
