WATERLOG | PHOTO DIARIES

BY Jamie Tay

When I'm stressed, I love taking time out to wander around.

Coogee Beach is the perfect place: it's nearby, and the crashing waves are always relaxing to watch. These are some snapshots from several trips.

This was from my first visit. Back in my home country Singapore, the waters are relatively wave-less. It might seem silly, but this was a refreshing sight to see.

Woke up at 5am to catch this sunrise during the holidays. Great view, but not worthwhile enough to see during term.

Some scenes, as if viewed from a smartphone screen.

The sparkling waters are much more mesmerising to see in motion.

I love the juxtaposition of the expansive beach against the small human.

It somehow reminds me that my worries are never as big as they seem

This guy stayed there for ages in the exact same position, even though it was winter.

I left this photo unedited because it felt apt.

Strange yet familiar.
