COVID Safe Regulations - David Phillips Sports Complex

Thanks for checking out the sporting facilities at UNSW. Please take a moment to read the following information before continuing.

These regulations have been put in place by Arc @ UNSW in conjunction with UNSW under the NSW Health Guidelines for Sport to ensure the continued safe operations of sporting activities at the David Phillips Sports Complex

All UNSW Club and External Booking Organisers must:

  • Have a Gatekeeper at your entry gate at all times when playing/training. Gatekeeper must ensure:

  1. Only those essential for training and games to be conducted at DP enter the facility (e.g. players, match officials, etc). This includes for the opposition team
  2. Spectators are not allowed to enter (with the exception of one parent/carer for players under the age of 18)
  3. QR Code is used by all entering DP (except where the UNSW club keeps their own attendance records of players)
  4. Hand sanitiser is encouraged upon entry
  • Have a COVID-19 Safety Officer available to call whenever training/playing at DP
  • Only enter through their allocated gate
  • Communicate relevant protocols to opposition/external teams/clubs/match officials/competition organisers
  • Endorse the “Get In, Train, Get Out” philosophy. This means players should arrive at the ground dressed and ready to train/play

All UNSW Club and External Booking Organisers must not:

  • Have their own canteen/BBQ or supply food/beverages to patrons
  • Encourage supporters to attend
  • Consume alcohol on the premises
  • Smoke on the premises
  • Climb building/grandstands

Open Amenities:

  • Assigned Toilets
  • First Aid Room
  • Assigned taps to fill drink bottles
  • Storerooms to access gear only (no congregating)
  • Central amenities cafe

Closed Amenities:

  • Changerooms including showers
  • Indoor areas with the exception of collecting equipment or accessing first aid

Players & Officials

  • Enter and exit only through assigned gate (Detailed below)
  • Sign in with allocated QR code at the gate
  • Stay within the designated area for your sport throughout
  • Only use allocated bathrooms and drinking taps
  • Adhere to the “Get In, Train, Get Out” philosophy. This means players should arrive at the ground dressed and ready to train/play, and depart as soon as cool down is complete
  • Comply with the conditions of entry of David Phillips Sports Complex

Gate 1 - Banks Avenue

Tennis Courts, Synthetic Hockey, Synthetic Football

  1. Gate 1 is highlighted above in Green
  2. This gate is ONLY to be used for all activities that are taking place on the Tennis Courts, Synthetic Hockey and Synthetic Football Pitch.
  3. Enter via the stairs and exit via the ramp
  4. Traditionally sports:

Gate 4 - Gwea Avenue

David Phillips North

  1. Gate 4 is highlighted above in Orange
  2. This gate is ONLY to be used for all activities that are taking place on David Phillips North
  3. Traditional sports
  • Rugby
  • Lacrosse
  • Ultimate Frisbee
  • Gridiron

Gate 7 - Cooks Avenue

David Phillips South
