Be a Better Human

Be a Better Human is a campaign that acknowledges that we all have prejudices and that we all make mistakes sometimes and that's ok. But the important thing is that we do the work to overcome prejudices and be better humans. This campaign gives students and staff accessible and relatable information about:

  • Anti-racism
  • Gender equality
  • The LGBGTQIA+ community
  • First Nations people
  • Gendered violence
  • Disability & accessibility
  • And much more!

This campaign was originally conceived of by Flinders University Students Association in response to the 2017 release of the Australian Human Rights Commission's 'Change the Course' report. This report investigated high rates and experiences of sexual violence at Australian universities. As such, the Be a Better Human campaign was designed to encourage students to explore the nuances of sex and consent. Here at Arc @ UNSW we decided to adopt this campaign and expand out its mission to also include student experiences of discrimination of all kinds.

On this page, you will find templates, example social media posts and resource lists that have been developed as part of Arc's Be a Better Human campaign. Please feel free to use what you need!
