Candidate information and statements
Eligible voters for the 2025 SRC elections will have received an email that provides a unique link to vote in the election. You must not forward your unique link to others.
Poll open date: Monday 27 October 2025 07:00 AEDT
Poll close date: Thursday 30 October 2025 21:00 AEDT
Instructions to vote:
The link in your email takes you to the Poll Menu, which lists your eligible ballots.
1. Click on the below voting link. This will take you to the "Poll Menu" page, listing all the ballots (positions) that you are eligible to vote in.
2. Click on a position you wish to vote for.
3. To read each candidate’s statement, select ‘Click for bio’.
4. Voting is optional preferential. Click on the box next to your most preferred candidate. This will mark them as with a “1” for first preference.
5. Vote for additional candidates if you want to by clicking the box of as many as you want. You do NOT need to vote for all candidates.
6. Once you are satisfied with your order of preferences, click on “Proceed to vote confirm” button at the bottom of the page, then “submit vote”.
7. After you have submitted the vote it will move to the next eligible ballot.
8. If at any point you wish to return to the original page, click on the "Poll Menu" option on the top right of the menu bar. This will take you back to the list of all the positions/ballots for which you are eligible to vote.
9. You can log out from there and come back later if you want.
Women's Officer Voting
The current list of voters for the Women's Officer position for the SRC Elections consists only of students listed on the university enrolment records as Female.
Female identifying students are also eligible to vote, but must be manually included in the list of voters.
If you are female Identifying and wish to be included on the list of eligible voters for the Women's Officer position, please email the Returning Officer at returning.officer@ozemail.com.au
stating your zID and name and request to be added. Voting rights will be available to you for the Women's Officer position a few hours later.
Disability Officer Voting
The current list of voters for the Disability Officer position for the SRC Elections consists only of students listed on the university records as being registered with the UNSW Student Equity & Disabilities Unit.
Students with a disability who are not registered with this Unit are also eligible to vote, but must be manually included in the list of voters.
If you are a student with a disability not registered with the Unit and wish to be included on the list of eligible voters for the Disability Officer position, please email the Returning Officer at returning.officer@ozemail.com.au stating your zID and name and request to be added. Voting rights will be available to you for that position a few hours later.
All requests received will be kept in strict confidence and will be securely deleted in due course.

Rules of SRC Elections
Term of Office
- Officers and Councillors will hold office for a term of one (1) year;
- Ex-officio members will hold office for as long as they remain the Chair of the Board, Convenor of the SDC, President of the PGC or Chief Executive Officer of Arc.
Composition
Elected Officers:
- President of the SRC
- General Secretary
- Education Officer
- Women's Officer
- International Students' Officer
- Indigenous Officer
- Environment Officer
- Two (2) Queer Officers
- Students with Disabilities Officer
- Welfare Officer
- Ethno-cultural Officer
Elected Councillors (voting):
- Six (6) undergraduate (at least two (2) of whom must be a woman) Members from Electorate A as defined in these Regulations
- Six (6) undergraduate (at least two (2) of whom must be a woman) Members from Electorate B as defined in these Regulations
Ex-Officio members (voting):
- Chair of the Board
- President of the PGC
- Convenor of the SDC
- President of the Art & Design Student Council.
Ex-officio members (non-voting):
- Chief Executive Officer of Arc
- The undergraduate student representative elected to University Council
- The two (2) undergraduate student representatives elected to Academic Board.
The authority, functions and procedures for these structures shall be determined by the SRC.
Election of Officers and Councillors
Officers and Councillors
- The nominators and candidate for the Indigenous Officer position must be an Indigenous student.
- The nominators and candidate for the Queer Officers must identify as queer and/or gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, asexual, pansexual or intersex.
- The nominators and candidate for the Women's Officer Position must be Woman-identifying Students.
- The nominators and candidate for the Students with Disabilities Officer must be a Student with a disability. Candidates for the position must be registered with the UNSW Student Equity & Disabilities Unit or, failing that, sign a statutory declaration stating they are a student with a disability.
- The nominators and candidate for the Ethno-cultural Officer must be from a culturally and linguistically diverse background.
- The nominators and candidate for the International Students' Officer must be an International Student
Voting Rights
The following restrictions apply to Students voting in the election of members of the SRC:
- Only woman-identifying Students may vote in the election of the Women's Officer
- Only international Students may vote in the election of the International Students' Officer
- Only Students with Disabilities may vote in the election of the Students with Disabilities Officer
- In the election of the Undergraduate Councillors only undergraduates from Electorate A may vote for candidates from Electorate A and only undergraduates from Electorate B may vote for candidates from Electorate B.
