Good Deed Days is a chance for you to get a taste of volunteering through exciting on-campus and off-campus events with different not-for-profits throughout Week 6!

Have you always wanted to volunteer but were unsure where to start? Whether you are looking to volunteer with a group of friends or you are keen to meet someone new, join us for Good Deed Days!

UNSW students will be getting hands-on across a range of meaningful volunteering activities - and you're invited to see the impact in action!

Tuesday, 20th October

  • Wrap with Love - 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

  • Royal Hospital for Women's Foundation (RHWF) - 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

  • Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Services (WIRES) - 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

  • Clean Up Australia - 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm

Wednesday, 21st October

  • Women and Girls Emergency Centre (WAGEC) - 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

  • Asylum Seekers Centre (ASC) - 11:30 am to 2:00 pm

  • Vinnies Vans x Food Hub - 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm

  • Kids with Cancer Foundation (KWCF) - 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm

Thursday, 22nd October

  • Share the Dignity - 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm
  • The Shepherd Centre - 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
  • One Meal - 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm



Each event is a hands-on opportunity to make a real difference in the community - from creating comfort items, sorting recycled materials, to helping care for children, seniors, and the environment.

Packing Care for RHWF

20th October at 10:00 am - Volunteers help pack essential care items for patients and families across the Postnatal, NICU and Gynae Oncology wards.

Knitting Warmth for Wrap With Love

20th October at 10:00am - Volunteers will knit 25cm squares that will be joined into blankets, providing warmth and comfort to people in crisis around the world.

Tuesday 20th October at 12:00 pm - Volunteers will help pick up trash from TBC, supported by Clean Up Australia

20th October at 1:00 pm - Volunteers will make possum dreys with WIRES, helping provide secure homes for rescued and displaced wildlife.

Painting Safe Spaces with WAGEC

21st October at 10:00 am - Volunteers will paint fences at refuge houses, helping create welcoming and safe environments for women and children escaping domestic violence while supporting WAGEC's vital community services.

Sandwich Making for Vinnies Vans

21st October at 12:00pm - Volunteers will compete in a fun, team-based sandwich making competition, preparing meals that will be distributed to people experiencing homelessness in the Bayside area via Vinnies Vans that same night.

21st October at 11:30 am - Volunteers prepare and serve lunch to asylum seekers and refugees in our local community.

Cranes of Home with KWCF

21st October at 12:00 pm -Volunteers will fold paper Cranes of Hope to be included in Care Packs, sending messages of comfort and hope to children and families facing childhood cancer.

Making Donor Cards for The Shepherd Centre

22nd October at 1:00 pm - Volunteers create heartfelt handwritten cards to thank donors who help give deaf and hearing-impaired children the gift of spoken language.

Snuffle Mats for Sydney Dogs & Cats Home

22nd October at 10:00 am – Volunteers support the shelter in creating snuffle mats as enrichment toys, providing comfort for the animals.

22nd October at 2:00pm - Volunteers will pack hygiene bags filled with essential items like toiletries and period products, write messages of support, and directly impact vulnerable girls, women, and people experiencing homelessness and poverty.

22nd October at 2:00 pm – Volunteers will work together to cook and pack spaghetti bolognese meals, providing families with a warm, nourishing meal made with care.

Helping Set Up Homes with ReLove

24th March at 8:30 AM - Volunteers will work hands-on with ReLove staff to organise, assemble, pack, and deliver essential household items, helping create safe and welcoming homes for clients.

Packing Hope, Delivering Care with Anglicare

24th March at 9:00 AM - Volunteers will support Anglicare by sorting donated goods, preparing hygiene packs, and stocking mobile community pantries for people experiencing financial stress and homelessness.

Sensory Cubes with Reverse Garbage

25th March at 11:00 AM - Volunteers will create sensory products through sewing, turning waste into useful items and keeping materials out of landfill.

Packing Hygiene Kits for Days for Girls

26th March at 12:00 PM - Volunteers help create care-packed hygiene kits, thoughtfully assembling satchels with underwear, reusable pads, face cloths, and women’s health resources to support and empower them.

Morning Tea & Activities at Twilight Aged Care

26th March at 9:50 AM - Volunteers get to enjoy some morning tea and focus on bringing joy and companionship to their day
